Electronic Arts has announced that EA Sports FIFA 08 is to be available for mobiles across Europe from 27th September. EA Sports FIFA 08 allows players to choose from over 100 licensed teams from five European leagues plus international teams.
The game offers a tutorial mode, season mode and a new club challenge mode featuring scenarios such as trying to win with ten men on the field and 30 minutes left on the clock.
British television football pundit Andy Gray introduces team lineups and provides additional text commentary, including half-time performance updates.
EA Sports FIFA 08 uses the same database of player statistics, abilities and team information as the console version, with each team member featuring individual statistics, and the enhanced season mode means games are connected throughout the season; injuries and fatigue are carried over into subsequent matches, yellow and red cards are recorded and accumulated and the commentator recognises ongoing performance.
"We have added a huge number of new features to EA Sports FIFA 08, putting one even closer to the action than ever before. The new ‘in-form' players function, for example, randomly selects three players before each match and grants them heightened abilities for that match only, which really adds to the excitement," commented Adrian Blunt, Producer, EA Mobile Europe. "Football is all about the passion and atmosphere associated with your team winning and we have tried to capture this in EA Sports FIFA 08 by bringing the game alive."
