 Magmic Games, 10tacle Mobile and First Star Software have announced a partnership allowing Magmic Games the exclusive worldwide rights to develop and publish a mobile version of Boulder Dash-ROCKS!. Under the terms of the agreement, Magmic Games and First Star Software will co-publish mobile versions of the title across all mobile platforms, including J2ME, BREW, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and iPhone.
Boulder Dash-ROCKS! is a remake of the original classic Boulder Dash. The puzzle and dexterity game first made its debut in the early 80s across several personal computer platforms, including Atari, Commodore 64 and DOS. Players have to collect sparkling diamonds whilst avoiding numerous traps and beating opponents to reach them, all the while watching out for falling boulders. The game was released in November 2007 for the Nintendo DS, with a PSP version to follow in Spring 2008.
Magmic Games will make versions of Bolder Dash-ROCKS! available for distribution through its roster of carrier partners and will also market the product through its various direct-to-consumer portals. The game is expected to debut in June, 2008. This is to be the fourth mobile game in the Boulder Dash franchise.
