  • Tira Wireless Adds Distribution Options to Tira Jump 2008 [03.04.08]
  • TiraTira Wireless has announced it has increased the distribution capabilities in Tira Jump 2008 with its new Jump Distribution Service. Using this service, developers are to be able to quickly and easily distribute applications directly to end users.

    The following Jump Distribution Service features are now available in Tira Jump 2008:
    • Content Discovery - Developers can create a WAP URL for application downloads or provide an embedded link in a Web site ("Send this to my Phone");
    • Dynamic Device Detection - Dynamic device detection capabilities will automatically link users to content appropriate for their mobile handset;
    • Content Delivery - This feature provides instructions that developers can use to configure their own Apache Download Server, as well as package applications into zip files that can be copied to the Download Server;
    • Content Distribution Reports - Tira Wireless are to provide a web portal where developers can access summary reports.

    The Jump Distribution Service also measures the effectiveness of a distribution program by tracking and measuring the download activity of each mobile application, and next quarter, Tira Wireless are to also add referral capabilities. This feature will enable users to recommend mobile content to friends from within an application, while making content discovery a simple process for recipients. Using dynamic detection capabilities, recipients of recommendations will automatically be linked to the exact off-deck content location for their specific handset.

    "To monetize content, developers need to get their titles into the hands of end users. Unfortunately, today's complex mobile ecosystem creates high barriers to distribution, especially for those that are new to mobile," said Juan Dewar, CEO of Tira Wireless. "Our strategy is to make it easy for content providers to effectively manage all aspects of the mobile content lifecycle, which includes distribution. With the Jump Distribution Service, developers now have additional options they can use to get their titles to market."
