  • I-Play To Publish Mobile Deal Or No Deal [03.28.08]
  • I-playI-play, the mobile publishing division of multi-platform casual game company Oberon Media has announced a North American licensing agreement with independent production company Endemol USA to develop, publish and distribute a mobile game based on the NBC game show, Deal or No Deal.

The agreement aims "to capture the heart-pounding tension of the wildly popular game show through true-to-life game play and interactivity."

In the show, players are challenged to choose a briefcase that contains a random monetary amount between $0.01 and $1 million. During each round, players must either stay with their original briefcase or make a deal or no deal by either accepting the banker's offer or testing their luck by opening remaining cases. Once a player decides to accept or decline the bank's offer, the game is over.

Don Ryan, SVP of Publishing for Oberon Media commented: "We're very excited to be working with Endemol USA to take Deal or No Deal mobile in the US. It's a hugely popular license that appeals to a broad audience with a highly addictive format, with a lot of suspense in the show itself, which is going to translate well to the mobile version."

"Having already successfully launched a Deal or No Deal mobile game that's been a Top Ten performer and garnered more than 1.5 million downloads, we are pleased to now expand our mobile catalog with I-play to provide fans with a new mobile experience," said Jon Vlassopulos, Senior Vice President, Digital Media and Branded Entertainment, Endemol USA. "This agreement further extends our commitment to provide fans with compelling entertainment choices across multiple platforms - anywhere, anytime."
