  • Sumo-Sumo Wins At Nokia's Mobile Rules! Competition [03.28.08]
  • NokiaNokia has announced the winners in the annual Mobile Rules! competition, an award that "recognize initiatives from emerging application and technology developers and business startups worldwide."

    Winner of the Multiplayer/Connected Games category in the Best Mobile Application track was Sumo-Sumo, a mobile multiplayer action game published by the Netherlands-based Gamica.

    Announced at a ceremony at San Jose City Hall, winners were chosen in three main competition tracks: Best Business Plan, Mobile Application and Technology Innovation, with other winners including MyStrands winning the Multimedia category in the Best Mobile Application track with MyStrands Social player, and Kannuu won the Mobile Multimedia category in the Best Technology Innovation track with its Kannuu technology.

'08 competition, who with their ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit typify an emerging wave tapping into today's exciting convergence of mobility and the Internet," said Tom Libretto, Vice President, Forum Nokia. "Open platforms and the millions of smartphone devices available today are helping enable this new wave of entrepreneurs from around the globe to become drivers of the future global mobile marketplace through the innovative technologies, applications and business models they create today."
