 Tokyo-based Gala Inc. subsidiary Gala Mobile has announced Boot Camp, a shooter boasting online features, such as persistent characters, player ladders, and more, due for cell phones Japan in May 2008.
The top-down shooter will support single-player offline play and online multiplayer battles with up to 16 characters. A badge system will work with players’ persistent characters to display player achievements with others.
Boot Camp’s online offerings will also include social features like a chat system, friend lists, ranks and player ladders, and player guilds. Gala Mobile’s CyberCOPS filter system will watch over communications to provide a safe, child-friendly gaming environment.
Developed by Web ENG Korea Co. Ltd., Boot Camp will be available for users to download and play for free for one month. Afterwards, playing the game will require a monthly payment.
No release has been scheduled or announced for North America or Europe for the moment.
