Paris-based developer and publisher Gameloft has announced an agreement with the National Basketball Association to create two titles, NBA Smash!, an arcade-style 2-on-2 street basketball game due May, and an untitled project presented as a 5-on-5 simulation style game and scheduled for September.
NBA Smash! features actual NBA players and a combo system which players can take advvantage of to maximize their scores. An advanced career mode will also be available for gamers to create their own players,
form and upgrade teams, and face off against all of the NBA teams.
Gameloft's will debut the second title just prior to the 2008-09 NBA season, promising an authentic NBA experience. The game will feature all 30 NBA teams and every NBA player. Gamers will be able to play through a full 80-game season, including events from NBA All-Star. The in-depth management feature will allow players to arrange their team rosters and choose team strategies.
