  • IQ212 Games Releases Redneck Fishin' [08.25.08]
  •  Casual games developer IQ212 Games released Redneck Fishin’, a new mobile title allowing players to fish for trout, bass, and more using dynamite for bait. The game is being published by Vivendi Games Mobile.

    Redneck Fishin’ stars Brandi and Randy as they try to save their homestead from the tax man. Players will help the two by "fishing" with explosives in different fishing hole settings for different kinds of fish, such as minnows, blue gill, giant catfish, and bass.

    Every fish caught helps Brandi and Randy pay off their tax bill, enabling them to buy back their family's TV, pool, truck, and other property confiscated by Sheriff Buford.

    To promote the mobile release, IQ212 launched a Facebook version with social networkin features, such as sharing and competing for high scores with friends. The studio also plans to release a PC version of Redneck Fishin’.

    Said IQ212 co-founder Hsiung Chen: "Our goal was to create a game and build a franchise that was made for mobile, port to almost every device, and be addictingly fun. With broad consumer appeal and a strong brand name, Redneck Fishin’ will not only delight and entertain mobile users, but the brand and gameplay translates perfectly to web and PC as well."
