Following a recent announcement that it will scale back support for the Android platform, worldwide mobile publisher Gameloft has revealed that it will focus its development efforts on next generation Android devices.
Gameloft named the Motorola Droid, released earlier this month, as a supported device for its next generation Android games. Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10 will also see Android releases from Gameloft after its release in the spring of 2010.
"The arrival of this new generation of phones will allow the development of High Definition games that make the most of the technological capacity and the speed of execution offered by the new Android phones," said Gonzague de Vallois, vice president of publishing at Gameloft. "Consumers will benefit from a top quality gaming experience."
Gameloft will continue its scaled-back support for current generation Android phones with titles like Assassin's Creed and The Settlers.
