Zeemote announced that its JS1 Bluetooth Controller has entered into Nokia's Accessory Developer Program, bringing the thumbstick accessory for mobile games back to retail channels following Zeemote's closing last year.
Shortly after the JS1 Bluetooth Controller's release last year, Zeemote ceased operations and sold its assets to software solutions provider Aplix.
The controller, a small-profile joystick connected via Bluetooth to a mobile device, eases the operation of supported mobile games and applications. Zeemote's device is compatible with all Symbian-based Nokia handsets.
"This is great news for mobile game fans who now have even more opportunity to purchase a Zeemote Controller and interact with their Nokia handset in an entirely new and fun way," said Jim Adams, Business Development at Zeemote. "By passing the Nokia accessory developer criteria under the Works with Nokia program we are one of a select group of accessories, which will be showcased internationally."
Nokia and Aplix will rerelease the Zeemote JS1 Controller in a retail pack online and in stores at a price of €29,99. Each retail package will include a free download of a Zeemote-supporting Gameloft game.
