  • GameJump Nominated For A Webby Award [04.16.07]
  • The Webby Awards has nominated Greystripe's GameJump, a mobile games portal, for the Best News and Entertainment Mobile Site of 2007. GameJump offers free mobile games using an ad-supported model.

The site also features mobile community features, such as user-generated game reviews, contests, top 10 lists, and game ratings.

Other nominees are Maxim Mobile, Premiere Mobile, the Project Runway Wireless website and Reuters.

Winners are to be announced on May 1, and honored at the 11th Annual Webby Awards Gala in New York City on June 5th. The ceremony will be hosted by comedian and actor Rob Corddry, a former correspondent for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

The awards are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a global organization that includes David Bowie, Harvey Weinstein, Arianna Huffington, Matt Groening, Jamie Oliver, Internet inventor Vinton Cerf, and RealNetworks CEO Rob Glaser.

"The Webby Awards honor the outstanding work that is setting the standards for the Internet," said David-Michel Davies, executive director of The Webby Awards. "GameJump, the first mobile Web portal offering free ad-supported mobile games and applications, is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of its creators."

"We're truly honored to have the GameJump mobile site nominated for a Webby award," said Michael Chang, CEO of Greystripe. "It's a great honor because it validates the idea that ad-supported mobile content, like free games, is the future for the mobile Web."
